Why you should stop copying others

i) Copying others

Copying others happens in different ways. You may be copying your father's or mother's habits, beliefs or life path. You may be highly obsessed by the character or looks of a movie star or an artist and you just start copying them. Sometimes this happens unconsciously and automatically when you get trapped by the "aura" of a career or a position and spend the rest of your life trapped inside this "cage" and pursing this end. Such decisions are usually made in the early years of childhood or adolescence - or even during the very first years of youth. They are often influenced by emotions or made in ways that are not very conscious.

Most of the time, decisions are made based on an unspoken mental challenge between yourself and your peers. This needs to stop because YOU are totally different fro them. You are two different persons, with different childhood histories, different potentials and, normally, different futures. That's why you should have YOUR OWN PLANS that go in accordance with the essence of WHO YOU TRULY ARE.

ii) Need a second look?

Whether our decisions are influenced by emotions or not, it is essential to notice that since we do develop every day, because we are supposed to be growing all the time and thus seeing things differently and clearly, it sounds logical and reasonable to have a second careful look at our "set goals" and life choices. With this "reconsideration" it is easy to notice the life goals that are no longer suitable to you. Maybe they were not right from the beginning, or they took us where we needed to be to see our true potentials and abilities and, as a result, real true selves - real true journey.

iii) Why re-examine?

Pausing and examining our old life goals can actually help us free ourselves and change the difficulties in our lives that are making everything messy and not pleasant. When something is unpleasant about your practical or personal life, this is a sign that you need to stop, take a breath, examine your situation, reestablish it and refocus your attention on whatever feels really right for you. And yes, I'm using the word "feel" because the way you feel about your decisions and situations IS significant. Sometimes thinking rationally alone would not give you the solutions that you need for your problem.

Example?

You may be taking a materially satisfying job, it is nice and prestigious, but it is not satisfying or feeding you on your most human level. In other words, it is not matching to your real potentials and divine gifts. You are spending your life doing it, but you are not going anywhere. This feeling of stagnant not going anywhere state is an indication that you are not operating on your fullest potentials. This is when you need to stop, re-examine your current state, refocus your attention on who you really are, and then take the time to re-establish your life.

You can apply this to every situation in your life. It has to be a match to your true and real self in order to make your life go right, full and complete.

Have a happy day.
