Negativity can easily reduce your enthusiasm and dim your shine due to the feelings of discouragement that accompany it. However, talking about feelings, we just need to realize that feelings are moved by thoughts in the first place. So, it's always about what you think.
Running away from the negative thoughts and feelings actually makes everything worse. That is because feeling or thinking negative is an indication that your own self is having some trouble handling or dealing with something. Instead of shutting yourself up, you should actually turn back and listen; like you would do with a dear friend of yours.
Use the following shortcuts from the "Challenge Negative Thinking" manual to clear it all away:
Am I generalizing, overestimating, or catastrophizing? What is the evidence that this thought is true or not true?
Have I confused a thought with a fact?
What would I tell a friend if he/she had the same thought?
What would a friend say about my thought?
Am I 100% sure that this will happen?
How many times has this happened before?
Is this so important that my future depends on it?
What is the worst that could happen?
If it did happen, what could I do to cope with or handle it?
Is my judgment based on the way I feel rather than on facts?
This "logical" examination will put everything in place for you and reduce your anxiety, anger, or whatever you might be feeling.
I welcome your questions.
Blessings to you all
